Trident Acoustic Pig Tracking
Acoustic signals are used in fluid filled pipeline applications subsea where there is no Pipe-in-Pipe (PiP), OR buried pipe at the points where pigs are required to be located. Long range detection can be done when using acoustics from both topside receivers and diver-held/ROV receiver systems. Acoustic devices can be activated by manual activation, prior to loading the pig into the launcher or by the presence of fluid (Wet-Start).
Typical Multiple Acoustic Signals Detected by PigView Software (13, 25 & 32kHz Shown):
Trident Acoustic Pingers
The Trident series Acoustic Pingers have been developed for subsea use within pipeline pigs for identification, tracking and locating. Pinger frequency, repetition rate, power output, pulse length and battery life can be configured to suit requirements of each individual project.
Trident Acoustic Receivers
The Trident 400 Receiver system is a portable digital acoustic receiver designed to detect all frequencies from 10kHz to 50kHz. The receiver provides a simple user interface and an enhanced acoustic signal output.
