Proplug has completed the supply of 12” & 6” fluid retention and flushing plugs to be used as part of the installation of a new pipeline.

The fluid retention plugs were provided to allow flooding of jumper spools onshore before deployment subsea.  During subsea deployment, the plugs allow equalisation of pressure and also venting of trapped air (through use of check valves). Fluid retention plugs supplied by Proplug are normally hydraulically activated and allow for topside/subsea installation OR recovery.

The flushing plugs provided for this project were designed to be installed & recovered by ROV. Proplug flushing plugs are hydraulically activated and then mechanically locked-off, for long term set (without relying on hydraulics). For flushing operations, the plugs have a Proplug 3” flushing port and hot stab system, to allow a high – speed flush of the system to be performed.
